Tip 1. Switch Off the Auto Brightness Setting.

Many smartphones come with a feature call Auto Brightness, which your Android phone will automatically set the brightness level by detecting the light condition. So you can try to turn off the Auto Brightness and keep it slow.

Tip 2. Uninstall the Apps that Draining Battery.

You can go to Settings > Device > Battery > Power > Battery Use to see a list of all apps and how much battery every app consumes. Then you can uninstall the apps that eats up too much power if you don’t use it often.

Tip 3. Turn Off Unimportant Notifications.

It seems like that every app will automatically demand to send notifications on your Android phone, but actually there are some notifications are useless. Just go to Settings > Apps and then uncheck “Show Notifications” in these apps.

Tip 4. Keep Your Phone More Than 40% Charged.

It’s said that the best way to improve your smartphone battery is to keep your battery more than 40% cause it’s really harmful to let the battery go from completely full to completely empty.

Tip 5. Disable Connections Manually on Android.

If you enable the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS service all the time, then they will eat up your battery very soon. You can open them when you need to use them and this will save much battery on your Android device.

Tip 6. Shorten the Screen Timeout on Android.

The screen timeout” or “sleep” setting determines how long your display will stay awake after it’s been engaged with, so it’s totally wasting battery if your screen remains on while you’re not using it. Just set it to the shortest time and it won’t affect while you’re reading or playing games.

That would depend on why and what is causing the drain in the first place. If it is an app like several social media apps then it will drain a battery faster than a stand alone app that is off when not in use. It could be an app that just has a bad code that is running constantly in the background. It could be an app or game that is just maxing the potential of what the system can provide and would drain the power the battery has faster than normal. It could be a bad battery, as they age they will need replacing eventually. You could check your usage under the battery tab in the settings and usually it will say what are the biggest drains on the device. You can also turn off your background running programs. You can also do a reset of the os if an update recently has cause a looping process to run because of a bad update or download. There are other possibilities that could be causing this. I would take your phone to a shop and see if the battery itself needs replacing after you have checked the software first and you don’t feel up to the diagnostics of it.

remove Facebook and Messenger. after I un’d these apps my up time went up. there are other battery draining apps but these two are the worst two.

reconsider the games you are playing.

look at Settings → Battery for a list of power sucking leaches. then decide what you want to put up with or without.

how old is the device? two years is old. your battery may be over and done

Is the phone and battery over 1.5 ~ 2 yrs old? Do you have a lot of apps?

Depending on what build level your OS is, there should be a POWER tab in the settings screen. You should be able to drill down and see battery drain statistics.

Your OS and phone bank may be different from someone else’s.

If age is the issue, the battery could be on its way down…
