, When your phone’s internal memory has less than around 250MB of storage space left, they start shouting about less storage availability and create one hell out of it.

A partition is usually created in the phone and space is dedicated to apps and your other files like photos and videos. So sometimes it happens that even though your phone has good amount of space left you’ll still see the warning.

Solution:
1.Time to move your data from phone memory to your Internal SD card. If you can move some apps too, go for it.

2. Clear cache. You will see this when you tap on Storage(in settings)

3. Delete thumbnail files. It should be in your camera pics folder. You may need any good File explorer app like ES File Explorer as the thumbnail folder is hidden. You can view the hidden files from this app. The name of the file would be ” .thumbnails”.

4. Uninstall any app which you don’t use very often.

Well one of the main things I do is clear all my cache and I do it frequently. One time, someone I
know’s tablet started showing low space and stuff. He showed me and said that all his apps we’re on the SD card and only has apps he wants. I go back to storage and I see 4 gb of cache sitting there and I’m like yeah your apps are fine but your maintenance is not so great. With two taps I brought back 4gb worth of space on the tablet. Basically here’s how you can do this. Go to settings, storage and scroll down to cache. When the information has loaded, you can click on the cached and it will prompt for delete. Say yes and voila, you have space. Also, if you have a micro SD in your phone (and if you don’t and your phone supports one then I would highly suggest you get one in there), make sure to go to Apps and under. SD card (may also be called USB storage based on your device) go to each app that shows up in that list and hit move to SD card. It will take a while but it will help in the long run. If you also feel like rooting your device, you can get LinkToSD and Link all your Apps to SD card, but that’s a whole different thing. Hope this ideas help.

My Android phone keeps saying there is “insufficient storage” when I try to download something, it also won’t let me update any Apps. I have 32GB of free space. In so confused, How do I fix this?

insufficient storage cause by a large number of apps are installed, too many app cache files are accumulated, or too many audio, video, and image files are accumulated.

You can go to Settings > Storage, check if you have storage space left.

There are some tips to fix the problem “insufficient storage”

  1. Move your music, and video files to an external memory card or computer.
  2. Clean up storage space.
  • Downloading apps that take up a lot of space can cause your storage to run out. It is recommended that you uninstall apps you do not frequently use to free up space;
  • When an insufficient storage notification prompt is displayed, touching the notification will take you to the storage cleanup screen . Select pictures, videos, and app data you would like to remove;
  • When a Storage limit reached notification box appears, touching the OK button will take you to the storage cleanup screen . Select pictures, videos, and app data you would like to remove;
  • Facebook, WhatsApp, and other apps that are used frequently over time will generate a lot of cached data such as pictures and videos. You can go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data(factory reset) to clear data and cache.
  • Apps such as Waze and Chrome may take up a large amount of storage space. This is due to app design. You can do the following:

a. To temporarily resolve this issue, go to Settings > Storage > Other apps, find the app that is taking up a large amount of storage space, such as Waze, and touch CLEAR DATA, as shown in the following figures.

b. Update your phone to the latest version
