if your mobile fall into water , first thing first , immediately switch it off .if you can take its battery out, so do so ,otherwise in my case , I wasn’t able to take the battery out so switch it off immediately as the water penetrated into the phone can short-circuit the component if the phone is on and current is flowing inside it .
now place your phone into a drying agent , the most common drying agent (soaking agent ) available with all of us is dry rice or uncooked rice . place your mobile covered into rice for 24 or more hours as dry rice are good absorbing agents as they absorb whatever moisture left inside your phone . You can also use silica gel to dry your phone .
Precaution – never blow dry your phone with blow dryer or heater as they can fry components of your phone . Don’t do such silly mistake .
After 24 or more Hrs you can switch on your phone and I’am definitely sure you can use your phone as it was before .
Why your phone is not working after all this – this is because your phone was in water for more time ,this let the water penetrated deep into the phone; it was not possible to absorb the moisture after all this remedy also.
What should you do even if your phone is not working now also – immediately rush to the nearest mobile service store 🙂
Hello there! Stop scrolling!! Believe it or not, I was reading your question last night after my phone fell into water and what! The power controls and the home screen button went powerless! I asked my dad on what to do and he said it may cost about 3000 rupees for changing the display And so on..
Confused, I checked out quora and it said to put in a cup of rice and leave it closed airtight.
I did the same first but I now realised that rice granules started going inside the charging port and the earphone port.. I removed the granules and then I closed the ports with a small tape. Then I checked after 1 hour, I couldn’t stitch it off as the power button wasn’t working. I let the battery drain. I left it for the whole night undisturbed. Then I checked in morning, the Battery seemed to have drained but the phone was very wet, may be because the rice was absorbing the water. Not so wet but you can feel water makes it more moisturised. Then I didn’t believe it could work. Then around midday I checked again, yet no change. Then at last, my dad asked me to put the phone in charge around 4 pm, then I put it in charge. I mistakenly pressed the power button and it showed the charge alone. I was a bit surprised.. Then I tried to switch it on, and Lo!! It switched on! Believe me or not there was no patches of water, or anything. The power and the home button also worked. I was just flying from sun to moon and Mars with the excitement!! It was the best miracle in my life!!!
The rice which was at my home, was actually the Savior which saved my dad’s money of 3000 rupees!!
I forgot to tell that I kept in rice for about 18 hours after it fell in water. This simple method is to be used by all!!!
