In reality, there is not much difference between a domain and a subdomain, basically they work the same - the only difference is that the subdomains always depend on the main domain or parent domain as shown in the example below:
Domain name is the address of your website that people type in the browser URL bar to visit your website.
In simple terms, if your website was a house, then your domain name will be its address.
Subdomain:
A subdomain is an additional part to your main domain name . Subdomains are created to organize and navigate to different sections of your website. You can create multiple subdomains or child domains on your main domain.
Example:
Www.tareqhassan.com-is a main domain
Portfolio.tareqhassan.com-is a subdomain
The domain name we often say refers to the top-level domain. For example, if you register a domain named jhrs.com in namesilo, then jhrs is the top-level domain, and the subdomain must belong to a top-level domain, for example, static.jhrs.com is a subdomain that belongs to jhrs.com.
Description of primary and subdomains
Primary domain name: consists of two or more letters, separated by a dot, and the entire domain name has only one dot
For example:
jhrs.com
Subdomain:
Is the domain name under the primary domain name, the domain name content will have multiple dot numbers
For example:
static.jhrs.com
